Saving money should never compromise our health because these two go together. But how do you do that? Being healthy and wealthy at the same time sounds like a lot of work, but you actually don’t have to do much effort in order to achieve this!
The following are some strategies that will help you be a health-conscious individual and a money-saver at the same time:
CONSIDER HAVING A MEAL PLAN.
This sounds like a diet tip coming from a nutritionist but this strategy also works in saving money. This helps equal distribution of expenses in terms of food purchase. This will help you avoid duplication of buying expensive food and will help your body receive the right amount of nutrients coming from different food sources.
Tip: Having a wide option of vegetables and fruits on your list can give you a cut with your food expenses.
GO FOR A WALK.
Sometimes, distance do really matter, especially in transportation. Having a walk instead of a ride is hitting three birds with one stone. It helps the environment by reducing carbon footprints, supports health stability, and saves you a portion of your supposed to be “budget” for transportation.
However, taking rides can also be time-consuming, especially in times of rush. So for me, the best time for walk is when you are not being chased by time.
Public markets are where local farmers are. They sell fresh harvests in a good price compared to other shops. It would be a nice way to save money through buying fresh products directly from the producers or farmers. Plus, get to help the local traders with their business at some point.
DO EXERCISES WITH LESS EXPENSES.
Some of us visit the gym because of the apparatus and equipment that would help us achieve our dream physique. However, you don’t have to be a gym enthusiast and visit the gym regularly.
Aside from the fact that it consumes money, there are still a lot of alternatives to be done that still have the same desirable results. What is good about this is that most of the alternatives are outdoors which could be an extra entertainment factor.
You can make possible friends and at the same time save a portion of your physical fitness expenses. Again, to be healthy is to be wealthy!
EAT THE RIGHT AMOUNT AT THE RIGHT TIME.
“Eat enough food during meal time”, this is a tip I got from my parents when I was growing up. Almost every meal, they will remind me to eat well so I don’t have to buy food whenever I’m outside.
I tried disregarding this advice once but to satisfy my hunger, I really ended up buying more food. What’s unhealthy about it is the idea that most of the food I can afford as a student are not that healthy or a little expensive. So, I learned my lesson. Starting that day, I made sure that my body gets the right amount of food as fuel for the following hours of tasks.
